Never expected to pick up one, let alone two. Two great deals at the gunshow Saturday. An American Derringer Co. Model 1 .45 ACP, and a customized High Standard .22LR, with hard chrome and rosewood grips. Show your derringers! [IMG][/IMG]

Were you at the Bowling Green gun show? I think I saw that exact high standard derringer there.
All I have in that class is a NAA mini revolver in .22mag, but I don't think it qualifies as an actual "derringer", what with having way too many shots and all.

I have a Bond Snake Slayer .45/.410, and the little thing is wicked. Fits perfect in a leather blazer pocket.

I was, and saw an abundance of derringers there. Might be fun to pick up a couple some time...although my NAA revolver suits me fine.

No, I was at Medina...that is where I got the two at the top. Long ago I saw an Uberti blued steel derringer in .45 Colt, and always regretted not buying it. It was a beauty, and probably pretty rare, as I have never seen another. The only .45 Colt derringers now are Amercan Derringer Company, are stainless steel, and most are also reamed out for .410 shotshells. I don't like having such a big "jump" for a regular .45 bullet (only the last 1/2" or so of those barrels are rifled). The .45ACP doesn't kick that bad, but the two barrels aren't aligned so well; they hit about 12" apart at 12 yards.

If Someone is willing to post the pics.......

........I have a Bonds Arms SnakeSlayer that I had my 'smith put a ClipDraw on. Never learned how to do pics since most of my stuff is run of the mill. He drilled and tapped my BA SS for the ClipDraw to go directly on the firearm instead of that glue strip they provide. Nothing against the gluestrip, it's strong as heck. I have it on another firearm. It just doesn't conform to the BA's shape. It fits well in the top of my cowboy boots as a BUG.:) Securely!

I've always wanted a Sharps 4 barrel after watching Yancy Derringer on TV!

The new Iver Johnson incarnation says they are going to make a 22 LR but I haven't seen them.

Okay, so I know the pic quality is pretty poor...but, here's shot of a Derringer I picked up at a gunshow about a year ago. It's really a POS (Rohn) and I'm afraid to shoot it. It's a .38 special, but it looks like it was made from all MIM parts. It I ever do shoot it, I'm going to be wearing some fairly tough welding gloves or something stout to protect my hands. Then again, I just may never shoot it. Cost me $45 bucks.

Personally i think small .380's like Keltec and LCP have made derringers go the way of the Dodo.

    If CUTE counts...

HERE'S ONE OF MY FAVORITES: Iver Johnson - the man, not his later company - made this little cutie sometime between 1870 and 1890, along with maybe a thousand more similar to it. This was prior to the formation of the company which later bore his name.

That info comes from Bill Goforth who has authored I.J. reference books for we collectors. And according to Bill, since this one is stamped on top of barrel with STAR VEST POCKET, he says that marking makes it even more scarce.

The gun is complete and working, but has a small sliver of wood missing on the back of each rosewood grip. She may be old, but she's still my little sweetheart.

    Best regards ~ ~ ~ 45Broomhandle
