Does this mean the Supreme Court will grant cert, or that they will bring it back to the District Court?

I think, which would not make the anti's happy would be the Supreme Court hears it, and decides it's an individual right.

At 7:45 pm EST this evening CNN reported that an "unconfirmed source" has told them that the USSC will hear the Heller case. No other information was given. The tv blurb lasted all of 10 seconds.

As for my DC connections... I don't work there any more, just have friends who still do. Now I live in WV, work in PA, and have a much lower stress level and better quality of life than when I lived in the DC metro region.

my little guess is that not only did the SC grant cert, but they either went with the heller team's question, or they drafted their own. either way, fenty and co's question and part of their strategy would be scrapped. cmon bubbles, and i there? luke warm? cold? :D

    "they know"

"they know" if they screw us that it means Ron Paul gets elected or we rise up against Hillary.

Get ready to see a reopening of class three in the cool states and reciprocity for ccw in CA/NY etc

I know I am in here a little late, but a I heard it on the radio this morning. The whole thing makes me a little nervous. I HATE surprises. I don't know if I trust the court to do the right thing.

We'll both find out at 10:00 this morning when the decision is made public.

FWIW I wasn't told why the anti's are going to be unhappy, though a decision to grant cert will made them unhappy since if the USSC upholds the lower court ruling that's a huge setback to their cause.

How long does it take the SCOTUS to deliberate and hand down a typical decision? Do they usually take weeks? Months? Years?

It seems so obvious that individuals are to be armed, in order to have a well regulated (well 'working') militia - private ownership is what made militias possible and that's the idea. But all I hear from these Manhattan types is that somehow there is no reference to the individual [puking icon here].

They try to rule on all cases they've accepted before they go on recess in August.

The Court has taken no action this week, so some Monday in the future they'll say what they've chosen to do.
