DEA Agent Suspended After Shooting Video Surfaces
Investigation Launched Into Who Leaked Internet Video

ORLANDO, Fla. -- An agent with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency was been suspended after video surfaced showing the man shooting himself during a gun safety class in front of a group of Orlando fourth-graders, according to Local 6 News.

An investigation has been launched to determine who leaked the home video of the undercover DEA agent shooting himself at an event sponsored by the Orlando Minority Youth Golf Association.

Before the shooting, the agent was videotaped talking about how certain weapons are popular with rap artists.

"This is a Glock 40," the agent said on the tape. "Fifty Cent, Too Short, all of them talk about a Glock 40, OK?," he said. "I'm the only one in this room professional enough that I know of to carry this Glock 40."

Seconds later, the agent shot himself in the foot.

"See how that accident happened, that could happen to you and you could be blown away," the agent said after the shooting.

Experts in the field said that the undercover agent should never have been videotaped because it could put the agent's life at risk, Local 6 News reported.

"It puts a lot of undercover agents in jeopardy if their faces are videotaped," the masked agent told Local 6 News. "His identity is burned. His identity is known as a police officer and its a potential personal safety hazard to himself as well as his family members."

The video of the shooting is posted on several Web sites on the Internet. The video shows the shooting and the agent's face.

Local 6 News did not show the entire video of the shooting because the undercover officer could be identified in some of the shots.

I think the bigger reason why they don't want that video shown again is because it's an embarrassment to the agent and the whole DEA in general.

Then he shouldn't have been a public group to begin with.

I'd say being an idiot puts the agent's life at risk.

This guy should be suspended for gross stupidity. Maybe things are different in Florida but when I teach a gun safety class ammo is never present and I don't refer to "gangsta rappers" in any way, manner, or form. They are not a good role model for anthing. :banghead:
Guys like this do not make me feel safer or more secure.

Apparently the agents highly developed skills didn't allow him to detect the video camera mounted to the tripod in the middle of the audience.

The agent is his own greatest risk. The DEA is one of the worst risks to the nation's civil liberties, and worse still when one pauses to consider the millions upon millions of illegal aliens that infect our nation like a cancer.

The competent DEA agents should be put to work guarding the borders.

Yeah, running around in a navy blue shirt with huge gold DEA letters on it giving demonstrations to rooms full of people is the best way to stay undercover  :banghead: .

I think that it is more along the lines of "You can't tape us because the next time we screw up we don't want to be all over the internet again." It is far easier to tell 30 people to shut up than 30 million :uhoh: .

I would pay a fair amount of money to see that.

Hmm, a line of high quality DVD's showing cops telling people they aren't qualified to handle guns then shooting themselves. I'll sell it on THR. I'll be RICH! :)

Pride goes before a fall.

What on EArth is an "Undercover" agent doing givng a public presentation in any event? Stuff like this and the official umbarage (can you say "attempted cover up"?) just makes me so damn proud to be a taxpayer :barf:

OK I Googled dea agent wmv and got several sites. Some seem to be on the racey side. So I picked this one:

This should take you right to the video.

Otherwise GOOGLE: "dea agent wmv" minus the "quotes" and pick from several sites.

I think they missed video taping the scene right before he shot himself in the foot. "This here is acid, I'm the only one in this room professional enough that I know of to handle this acid."

My favorite line.

"His identity is known as a police officer and its a potential personal safety hazard to himself as well as his family members."

Oh yeah, this guy is definately a potential personal safety hazard to himself and his family members all right. But not for the reasons they stated.

Mind you according to the story, he wasn't suspended because he shot himself, but becuase people found out about it.
That is the scary part of the story.

How about their reaction when he tries to show them the AR? They are all yelling for them to put it down, as if they are afraid that it will magically go off by itself, "just like the glock". :banghead:

What really boggles the mind is why he continues to give his lecture after shooting himself in the foot. Most reasonable folks would be headed to the ER.
