Looks like a for sale add on Craig's list talking about gently used and well cared for.Yeah, I would give that a......retirement (right after got a new one)
Don’t forget Saint Punch, patron saint of gun owners.Did you put a vise grip on that spindle nut? I do hope you are turning the nut in the correct direction.
A 3/4 open end wrench will fit the flats on the die, and the 1/2 spindle nut is ruined. I suggest you check the rotation, looking at the spindle, it will come off counter clockwise. If you have a vise grips wrench, clamp it on the spindle nut. If you don't have a vise grip, get one.
After working on enough mechanical items, I have decided there are several people who need to be commended to perpetual veneration and invocation : Saint Vise Grip, Saint Duct Tape, and Saint Multitool.
You’re a good person, Kentucky. I don’t care what anybody says.
No need to name any pistols after me. I am honored to help. We have a wonderful community here and people help each other out in so many ways that it’s unbelievable. Knowledge is passed freely, and with authority. Items get passed along when they are no longer needed. It’s the least I can do after gaining wisdom from some of the folks on here who literally wrote the books on the things we enjoy.Mr WestKentucky. If I'm understanding what your offering correctly you are indeed a Prince amongst men and I will name my new pistol after you.
It looks like an easy fix to me, someone buggered the top is all. Not all of us live in a disposable society. I could repair that die, faster than you could order a replacement. This thread makes me sad. Trying to save that die is Soviet Russia level desperation. Kudos to #WestKentucky for stepping up.
