Decent prices at Dicks Sporting Goods

I've got several Dick's stores to choose from in my area; oddly enough the largest of the three is in a very upscale and trendy shopping complex, and they have a very nice selection of rifles and shotguns there. Their prices for Remington pistol ammo is also a very good deal, usually $8.00 or $9.00 when you buy ten boxes of it. Good practice ammo for the range. When they had it in stock, their price on 150 rounds of Ultramax .223 was also extremely decent; last time I found some, it was something like $55 or $56 a box. I've used it as practice ammo and it's been very reliable and fairly accurate.

Here, Dick's bought out Gaylans a couple of years ago and all the handguns left along with most of the rifles. The only ammo left are shotgun and .22 cal. Their sales people in the sporting goods are about as dumb as rocks and I've taken advantage of it a number of times..
The first time I was looking for a small .22LR rifle and ended up with a little Mossberg Plinker w/scope for 129.00. The "kid" brought it to the checkout register and handed the tag to the clerk, she rang it up at 54.95. I said nothing and walked out the door with a nice rifle for about 60.00.
The next time I was looking for a cheap scope for 100yd shooting for my CZ-527. I picked up a 50mm Tru-Glow for 149.00. Again they handed me a tag to take to register as the scope was locked up down there. The tag I got had a bar code number that rang up 39.95 with the description/item of the scope I wanted. I paid the 39.95 and walked out with nice scope, (In retrospect I should have tried it with the Burris they had).

I just love shopping there. The have great discounts.:D:D:D:D

A couple of things about my DICK'S, The gun selection could be expanded. They no longer carry handguns, or handgun ammunition. They don't carry "black" rifles like Gander MTN does (only bolt/levers/shotguns/.22's)

They carry the R-15...the camouflage remington AR-15 at my Dick's. Although, I guess you're technically correct since it isn't a "black" rifle;)
