I had a Glock 17C...
traded it for a Glock 19. Put a 3.5lb spring in it. Not looking back.
I love my Glock, what can I say?
Personally, just for me, the P99 is a bit more superfluous in it's ergonomics.
It's big for my hands, and although it's nice, I appreciate the simplicity and
accuracy of my Glock. My friend has a P99...got to fondle it again last night.
Nice gun, if I had all the money in the world, I'd have one. If I could only
have one gun under $500 it would probably be the Glock I have now.
I do have to agree with Bluestarlizzard, the trigger is...funky. To me at least.
Some people think Glock triggers are funky, and I totally agree with them too.
The Glock funky I like though. :D
But pick what you enjoy SHOOTING or at least what feels better in your hand.

Found a Glock 19 at a great price...a few years and 12,000 rounds later, I'm really sold  Get the 19 & see for yourself ;)

JMOFO:

Try and shoot both before you make a decision. IF you decide on the Walther, I highly recommend the traditional SA/DA or "AS" (anti-stress version).

Best Wishes,

Carry+Range = Glock 19 (best all-around in my opinion)
Range only = Glock 17
Carry only = Glock 26

"Best" is debatable, and best what Gaston may think Glocks are not perfect, but I prefer Glock because they work, they are simple in design, are comparably expensive and parts/accesories are most readily available.
