Decocker/manual safety or striker for CCW

Striker all the way for me. I have great appreciation for the other designs, but I've started off carrying a K9 in the late 90's and every other carry pistol I carry since then has been striker fire. These days it's primarily either a P365 or a gen 4 G19 if it's cool enough to warrant a jacket.

I do CC a full size 1911 in 10mm with warm handloads when I'm on the trails, but that's a different story.

I don't have a carry license in my Country but if so I'd carry my Walther P99 AS.

I think that making a decision on which handgun to carry based on whether it's got a safety, de-cocker, or it's striker-fired is making a decision on a minor point.
I can’t imagine a more major point. How the gun operates is really all that matters. When I see some of the aftermarket crap people immediately bolt onto their guns, it makes me laugh. Agonizing over plastic sights vs metal or degree of stippling are minor points. 8 rounds in a Shield vs 11 in a Sig 365 are minor to me.

OP, I carry striker simply because they are lighter weight and for ME, that is the ultimate deciding factor (assuming the gun is reliable and I wouldn’t own it if it wasn’t. But I prefer hammer fired because I feel it’s a safer design.
