Just about any 9mm self defense load will be fine; the pistol itself will not likely display any real preferences.

I prefer the 147gr HP bullets; some folks like 'em lighter and faster. Right now, I'm using the Winchester Personal Protection 147gr HPs in my carry pistols without issues.

Thanks, Bernie. I have some Golden Saber 115g, but haven't fired anything but ball out of it yet. I am concerned about overpenetration, though...is a heavier or lighter bullet better to prevent this?

I am not a total newbie with firearms, though I am a bit rusty on some things. On ammunition variations...well, there are a lot of opinions out there. And not all the "testing" done can be considered reliable. I am somewhat limited money-wise, and don't have the cash to try out a dozen different types of self-defense ammo.

There are terminal ballistic tests out there on several web sites, including Brassfetcher and The Box O' Truth. I suggest that you do a quick scan and see what this data does to help your thinkin'.
