Arfcom has been pulled down and many sites are just waiting for the lights to go out. These are truly frightening times we are experiencing. While the attack was on a firearms forum the issue is bigger than that. Bigger than what is acceptable for discussion on THR. With that in mind I urge you to head over to https://notechtyranny.com

Think of NTT as THR but with no limit as to the topics of discussion. NTT and THR are owned by the same person and run with the same expectation of attacking the argument not the person. Otherwise not much is off limits. Nothing illegal, no porn... You get the idea.

“We don’t do politics”....until they shut down all our sites and ability to communicate with like minded people. Robert I apologize. I’m just frustrated. Many people saw this coming. Many tried to warn us. And we closed the threads. I know why you all did it. And I honestly understand. But when you don’t talk about the “what if’s” from time to time, you can’t prepare. You plan for the “what if’s”. Not zombies or TEOTWAWKI or whatever the acronym is. But for real possibilities. You all did a fine job trying to separate politics from the 2A. And admittedly, it had to be difficult. And now here we are. Conservatives and like minded Democrats and Libertarians, praying the lights don’t go out......The most powerful group of people on the plant. The 2A was meant to defend all the others. And we didn’t. We sat at our computers, on our forums and chat groups, saying nothing is going to happen. “There may be a little set back. But we’ll make it like always.” We gave. They took.

I love THR. This and YT are all I have. Not Twitter. No Facebook. Nothing. YT is already starting to purge. Parlor is no more (not that I had it). It’s only a matter of time until everything else is gone. This isn’t conspiracy. It’s happening.

A very serious question as I’m not a computer guy.... Is the information on here archived somewhere? There’s no other forum that has the knowledge this site has.

I’m trying to spread this sticky. But as I stated, I’m not a computer person. I’m just starting new threads on all the forums. Not sure how many people will see them. @Robert, is there a way to send out a massive alert to member’s inboxes? I’ll keep creating new threads until I hear back.

Yes, Derek is working to back up everything if they come for us. THR was always designed to have a narrow focus, that is why Derek started the other site.
Im not tech saavy at all, so forgive the stupid question, but how would they shut down THR if its a privately owned and operated site? Would the ISP, say Frontier or whoever have the ability to block my access to it? Or would it simply become a "dark site" that doesnt show up in G00gle searches or something? If that was the case, couldnt we still enter the site address manually?

credit card processors attacked tobacco and vaping vendors years ago by withdrawing their services from those products

the same could happen with firearms and ammunition, and for the free speech angle, if hosting providers pull the plug on firearm related web sites, the window gets narrower and narrower until it finally shuts

Do all sites need to use a host? Is it simply the cost and space requirements of the servers or do they hold some sort of magic internet gate keys?

ultimately I think all of this bandwidth has been getting consolidated, and I don't know how possible it is to have a website that doesn't run any data through Google or Amazon along the way. I think right now it's still possible to get a site back up after a hosting solution shuts it down, and again, and again, but eventually maybe not. How many corporations own the news media? That's how we gave up our access to unbiased journalism. The web has been sliding toward bias the last decade, it's not a neutral playground and apparently the people with the keys think that gives them the right to shape how we think about things. Dark times, never thought I'd see America where she sits tonight.
