Get ready folks. This seems like a big crisis to us, and it’s not good but the big crisis is coming. Anybody watching has seen how everything has been orchestrated for a while now.

The big crisis will come so we can be saved and normalized by our government. (we lose at that point)

Now is a good time to make sure you’re as self sufficient as possible. Probably not much time till the world really gets twisted though.

I’m hoping everything I just wrote is completely wrong but communism is strong in America now so it looks pretty bad.

I hope this worry is for nothing.

Is there anything we members can do to help?
I wouldn't worry much, great thing about the THR is the mods are strict about keeping political posts out of the forum unlike some other forums like the one mentioned in this thread that has some members posting some very wondering things and any posts not on same page is met with hostility, which is why I never joined that one.

There are times I have wanted to say something out of frustration especially in the last year but in the end I'm glad THR polices the way it does.

That said we are in weird times, who knows......

A very serious question as I’m not a computer guy.... Is the information on here archived somewhere? There’s no other forum that has the knowledge this site has.

Yes, Derek is working to back up everything if they come for us. THR was always designed to have a narrow focus, that is why Derek started the other site.

Not so sure that is even a good idea. A lot of people have posted a lot of stuff describing guns they own and their thoughts on many subjects. This might be a good time to just scrub the site clean (if that is even possible), and start over from scratch. Or at least decouple user accounts from email addresses and PID.

They're emboldened now. Twitter did it to the President of the United States, everyone else is small fish.

Ok. And I don’t necessarily disagree. But how do we know “they” don’t already have it all also? How much information is contained on THR? A terabyte maybe? That’s a laptop worth today. Small potatoes for a big tech company to take. Is it even taking? Not like DOJ would prosecute anyways.

the problem with the above is that once nearly every human on the planet was using Twitter and/or Facebook daily and they had become part of our everyday lives, THEN all of a sudden freedom of speech takes a backseat to their terms of service

IMO these social media platforms have a moral obligation to be there for everyone to use and shouldn't get in the way unless something criminal is going on. I won't use any of them now, they showed me in 2020 that they are not neutral, and the power they have to shape what people think is absolutely terrifying.

It is private owned companies that are sanitizing their sites or banning people, it isn't the government doing it (yet), Most people agree that private companies can do what they want in far as terms of service right? If we can't talk about guns what's the point of even having this site? The thing is on that AR site there are members who post inflamatory things and any attempt to disagree with them in a civil manner is met with hostile response so no surprise to me that they were targeted, I'm so glad the THR isn't that way.

If you understand that internet archives have been a thing for quite awhile, you tend not to post things that could be used or held against you. Someone far wiser than I said "the internet never forgets". It is like any other tool, it can be used for good or bad, and by parties known and unknown.
