Well, it was hot, and shade was at a premium, but I had a great time and I'm sure everyone else did, too. A brief rundown: Team captains (in this case, Mike Waidelich and "Tommy the Grip") played speed chess. Each shooter had his name on 4 pieces. Combat between pieces was decided by a man-on-man shoot-off in one of 8 (9?) randomly selected scenarios. I held my own pretty well, especially considering I'd just picked up my SW1911 the night before, but I got schooled a couple of times. Good stuff!

And now, some pix:

Eric shoots. Lyle refs. Mike W. smokes.

Andrew Wyatt. 'Nuff said.

Tim shoots against Bill. (Tim's a THR lurker. Silent but deadly.)

Mike contemplates his move. Michael watches intently. Andrew dominates a Pop Tart. :D

Tim sights in his new SU-16. (Bruce in background.)

Just want to thank Lyle and Andrew Wyatt (esp. for the cool falling steel targets), Bill, Chris, Eric, Tommy, Bruce, Mike Waidelich, Michael Horne, and my pal Tim (and anyone I missed). I'll be joining Desert Marksmen this week. :)

You guys should've posted about going there, I'm only 15 minutes from DM. Let me know when your planning on another trip.
