    I was just wondering.

    I've never heard of a .22 Glock.
.22 is a big market and many people like to have a .22 that is like their main gun for cheaper practice.

Anybody know why they don't make one or stop if they ever did?

Glock never made a .22LR handgun.

    There are aftermarket .22LR conversions.

Glock currently does not make a .22LR handgun because...
#1) .22LR handguns are not used by military/police agencies.
Glock mostly concentrates on military & law enforcement sales.

#2) a .22LR Glock pistol would not be legal to import into the USA.
The Gun Control Act of 1968 brought about the "sporting purpose" requirement for importing firearms into the USA. Handguns are graded on a point system and a .22LR Glock pistol would not generate enough points to be legal for importation for civilian sales.

If they ever do, I *really* hope they call it the "Model 40" - talk about the "Who's On First?" conversations that could create.

In a similar vein, S&W also needs to come out with a .357 mag called the model 41.

There are 2 companies than make .22lr conversion kits: Advantage Arms and Ceiner. The Advantage Arms kit is far better (works out of the box, last round bolt hold open), and Ceiner has very questionable business practices.

Prices aren't bad (around $270), but they are backordered, and if you sign up now you might get it in January. I figure the conversion will pay for itself in 1k rounds vs 9mm.

Hey Glock, make a single stack 9mm/40s&w already!

Quiet had to ruin everyone's fun! :D

I would think, however, with Glock now having light manufacturing capacity here in the States (they briefly made the compact frames here didn't they?) that a .22 conversion kit from them would sell off the shelves. Yes, they focus on LEO sales, however, they are remissed in letting this opportunity go for too long. Even a dedicated .22 gun would still be a fun enterprise and would more than make up for any startup costs they would have. The little Turkish .22 pistol that is shaped like a Glock 19 in stores now sells out quickly. It's time that Glock realized what they are missing out on instead of resting on LEO focused sales laurels! :)

Glock does not make, nor have they ever made a .22 caliber pistol. There are a couple of makers of conversion kits (barrel, slide and magazine that you use with the original frame).

It would however be interesting if they did. Think about it: following their model number progression, a Glock in .22 caliber would be a Model 40 - a nice complement to the Glock Model 22 in .40 caliber. :p

Glock will not make a .22lr because .22lr autoloaders are inherently not very reliable. Part of it is just the cartridge. Glock's reputation is built on reliability and they do not want to be associated with a .22lr gun that does not go bang every time.

There is a .22 pistol on the market right now that looks remarkably like a Glock model 19, it is marked "Made in Austria", and even takes down like a Glock. It does have an external safety and an external hammer though.
I saw one at a gun shop yesterday, right next to the Glocks. I don't know much about them, but I'm sure someone here has seen them and can tell you more.
