did i just "fire lap" my bbl?

    I never researched what fire lapping was. Someone on here suggested I do this per the Winchester website to my new model 70. So I followed the instructions to a "T".

    I was just reading a little on fire lapping and it sounds pretty darn similar.

    Actually, fire-lapping is coating bullets with abrasive grit and shooting them through the barrel.

    I hope you didn't do that to a new rifle!!

    rc, no i didn't shoot any coated bullets. I shot Winchester factory loads.

    no you didn't fire lap, you just followed the "barrel break in" proceedure
