Anyone know if there is a difference between die sets made specifically for 45 Gap and the 45 acp? Midway shows a Redding die set specifically for 45 gap but shows RCBS 45 acp as 45 Gap also. Anyone load 45 Gap with the RCBS dies or do I need to order a set of dies specifically for the 45 Gap? Thanks!

i would imagine that 45 ACP dies would load the 45 GAP. Basically it is just a shortened 45 ACP case that uses small pistol primers. It's possible that the tapered crimp die may not be able to be adjusted low enough to crimp the shortened case though unless it is a four die set..

I have a SD that I had to machine the crimp die to work properly. It would depend on how they are made but you might also have a problem with the bullet seat die and bell die. The size die should be the same for both.

my RCBS 45acp dies say they will also load 45gap. if that helps. you just need to screw the seater-crimper die further in, but there seems to be plenty of room for adjustment.
