I just came back from the local shooting range, and I had a problem chambering rounds in my Marlin 25M. It seemed that I had to push the clip up and forward for the rounds to chamber properly. I had two clips, one that was purchased with the gun and a brand new marlin clip from wal-mart, and the same problem was prevalent with both. Does anyone know how to correct this problem?

I have the Marlin 25 MN 22 magnum. I hope this is your problem. When you put the magazine into the rifle notice that there are lips on each side of the magazine where it enters into the gun. These lips are on the side of the magazine facing the trigger guard. If then do not line up and slide in properly your mag is not in the right place. Hope this helps.

disassemble, then reassemble your rifle, especailly checking the mag well area. look and see with a flashlight, for a tab or two , that catches the tabs, on the magazines. they may need to be bent in or up a little bit, to make the mag sit up higher. reassemble and test. if still no worky, send back to marlin.
