Greetings,

This week I bought a Lyman Turbo 2500 (and I repaired my Dillon 500).

I noticed two things with the Lyman and I would like to have your feed back because I may use it wrong.

1 - Lyman is less noisy than the Dillon.
2 - It seems it has a bigger capacity.
3 - Of what I saw, it cleans 1/2 slower than the Dillon.
4 - I noticed the many rifle cases end up on top and the crushed walnuts is just to about half the case. There are cases at the bottom but a lot of cases line up nicely like little soldiers.

How much media do you put in your lyman? Is it because the dillon stuff in the tumbler is outside toward inside and Lyman is simply shaking that makes those cases stand up? I notice the big pilar in the Dillon in the center makes the stuff move more. The Lyman makes the stuf rotate.

Thank you

I have two Lymans and a Midway. The small Lyman is the fastest and quietest. The large one is the slowest and the Midway the loudest. I add as much media as the bowl will hold. I can watch the cases cycle from top to bottom. A friend has the large and small Dillon. Both are pretty quiet, but I've not done a side-by-side comparison.

Almost sounds like you have your 2500 overloaded. Both of my 2500's I have loaded with ~700 .223 and fill to brim with media. And it WILL make the brass spill and tumble like it should.

2nd 2500 is definitely quieter than last one.

Greetings,

I made a test yesterday. I put 4 large McDonald glasses of 223 and filled up the tumbler almost to the top with media (crushed walnut).

It worked perfectly. I think you got it right: last time, I had 6-7 glasses. I think me too it was overload.

Thank you
