I wouldn’t exactly call carrying that around “discreet”. Handy maybe, but I would suggest a backpack as being less attention drawing.

I've found a baseball/softball bat bag handy for such items. In winter, an ice fishing rod case fits well also. Much more discreet than a poster/map case, particularly when you consider the manner of dress one would have to wear so as to not be incongruous while carrying the poster case.
It would be handy for storage in a vehicle, but it might also invite smash and grab.

Nice idea & I hope it works to your satisfaction BCR#1, but ...

There is no ID (inside diameter) dimension listed for that tube.

Are you sure that it is large enough to accommodate a Shockwave?

Prior to ordering it did you communicate with the Seller to determine the ID and then forget to mention it in your post?

    Just wondering. :)

Quite sure. Amazon sells the same tube. Dimensions are 4.5" x 30.5" Pics next week when it arrives.

I use a tripod bag. Used to carry a MP5 in a Yamaha keyboard case at work if the occasion arose.

I don't use one of those for carrying a gun, but I do use them to schlep paper targets to the range. I can roll up a good 25-30 big silhouettes and another 25 B-16's with a roll of blue tape to hold the smaller ones onto the larger ones as a backer.

    Stay safe.

I do love the idea of keeping my Shockwave close.

Every experienced commentator I've ever known tells you flat out not to assume that a single center hit to the torso with any handgun cartridge will solve your problem.

A centered pattern of buckshot at very close range and the problem becomes more St. Peter's than mine.

The world is just a better place with a twelve gauge in hand: birds sing louder, the sky is bluer, people are more polite.

Well, the tube arrived and works fine but I thought it was better suited for toting a roll of silhouette targets as I found an old vinyl tripod case that fits the gun perfectly.

I remembered the decked out, on the inside, race car trailer, that looked not so nice on the outside and had a big sign on the side “Stanley’s Septic Service”

    About the right length.

Great. So it doesn't look like a shotgun, but more like an M72 rocket launcher. Real discreet.

Musical instrument cases are somewhat discreet but popular enough for the purpose that they could be suspicious under certain circumstances. A guitar case can hold a lot.

I suggest a Large Yoga Mat Duffle in a pattern that isn't flattering to your "tactical" taste.

    LMAO! :D

Uh oh! Wait a minute ... that may be Politically Incorrect ... if so, we may have to fire you from your job, insult & abuse you endlessly on the social networks and fart in your general direction ...

... can we get a Ruling on this?!

Lots of places this one wouldn’t get a 2nd glance. Thousands of them at a park I went to last 4th of July.

This old golf bag case was rescued from the trash pickup, wheel replaced and makes a decent “one trip” gun case. If I wore goofy pants and hats, it wouldn’t look suspect.
