When I bought my Colt signature series 1851, I also ponied up (hah) the dough for the matching accessories.

Without spending another $300 on a presentation case (most of which are wooden topped instead of glass) from Colt.

Anyone have a better place to get a case?

    Cabela's has one for $60.

Anyone seen a GLASS or wooden topped case in this range or cheaper?

Hook up with a museum and see if they throw out the old cases. Some cases (vitrines) are used once and tossed. I got one for a samurai scabbard but darn if it won't fit a rifle. It pays to do favors for people. :)

Alternatively, check stores that are going out of bizness. I have a 5 1/2 foot display case that's wood & glass. It use to be in a gunstore and when the owner died, the son sold the case to me. Today it's filled with 1/1200 scale ship models - about 300 of them. Biggest little fleet in CA. Besides the ships, I still think of Val (Valentino), the gunsmith whose store it came from. He sold me my first rifle, shotgun and pistol. RIP Val.
