Do 22 wmr rifle barrels need breaking in?

    Personally, I would clean to remove all the preservation oil/grease and enjoy. But others may argue that breaking-in is needed.

    No barrel needs to be broken in.

    Everything breaks in.

    Not much actually needs it.

    If you're shooting competitions with it, worry about it. If you're shooting groundhogs, just throw in your choice of ammo and check your scope after a couple hundred rounds.

    Clean it and shoot it. Don't worry about it. Some rifles take some shooting to "break them in" (even rimfires), but I would not concern myself with that. Just shoot it.
