Do Politicians Have Armed Guards?

I wonder if Pelosi and other anti-gun politicians use armed guards/escorts for personal and private use? Obviously there are armed security agents for special events, but I'm wondering if Pelosi or other Senators have armed security assigned to them for day-to-day activity, etc.

Here is why I'd like to know: If they use armed guards, it would be hypocritical of them to ask us not to have firearms with the same capabilities, capacities, firepower, etc. that their armed guards use.

Anyone know? Or know of how I could find out? Or maybe input on this idea...

Secret service protects President, VP, first family, and the secretary of state. I would suspect that congressman are protected by some law enforcement agency. I know I read in a news article not long ago that a very big ANTI congressman was arrested for shooting an intruder in his home with his handgun.

I can tell you, if I were a congressman, I would definitely be packing. I don't care if you are the most popular congressman in the history of the nation there is always going to be someone out there with a bullet they will fire at you if given the chance.

I would imagine part of their security is in not making it obvious. I would also be a bit nervous doing the googling it would take to find out for sure. You start poking into security details around senators or the Pres and you will get someones attention sooner or later.

I saw on the TV a dozen or so were getting special guard because of the healthcare vote. Seems they got some threats or something. I think a window got broke one place and someone sent a coffin to another congressman.

I think it was Pelosi that was having a press conf about it. I find her hard to watch.

Senators and house members don't get protection in their every day lives.
If there's a threat then the LEO's get involved.

I seem to recall hearing Ted Kennedy had a bodyguard who was arrested for trying to bring weapons into the Capitol Building

Dianne Feinstein actually has a concealed carry permit.

In her own words from April 1995:

Maybe she'll turn into one of these wild gun-toting maniacs that liberals always talk about during a meeting with Speaker Pelosi. Not that I wish any harm to Mrs. Pelosi.
