Here's a link to a Daily Kos blog which advocates removal of the Democrat anti-gun platform plank. There's also a poll at the end, but it's garbled a bit and you have to read the text box just above it to understand what it's asking. The good news is that some Democrats understand what the anti-gun plank costs them. The bad news is that they'll probably just go silent on their real position and wait until they have enough of a majority to bring it up again.

    ...and another thing....

If you read the posts below the above Daily kos blog, you'll notice that the ONLY reasons the posters consider dropping the AWB is to get back into office, not because they're concerned about basic rights.

Glad you like my article. :D

Personally, I'd like machineguns to be Title 1 firearms and suppressors to be Title 1 as well, but don't say it too loud. :)

Some Dems already know that gun rights are basic human rights. Some will only give it up because of political calculus. My article is aimed at the latter.

Not all people thought that Brown vs. Board of Education was a good SCOTUS decision, but they learned that opposing school integration was an election loser. Eventually, they faded from public view as public opinion swung against them.
