I finally got the parts for my new BHP Practical and got it all put together. So here it is. C&S trigger and hammer, Wolff springs, and Craig Spegel rosewood grips. Ain't she purty!

I've always loved and carried BHPs. My first was a blued 1984 vintage. My next was a Mk2. I just couldn't warm up to the Mk2, so I traded it as soon as the Mk3 came out (I got an all-Belgian with a lanyard loop in the brief period they were available). In 1990, I bought one of the Argentines, still the toughest finish HP I've ever owned, loved that gun but sold it to my best man. I next got a Belgian/Port. Mk3 that I've used for a carry gun for years since. When the .40 came out, I had to have one. So, I still own 4 of the 6 I've ever owned. I bought an FEG when it first came out in the '80s but thought it was trash, hated it, and would not place it next to the HPs I've owned. I really want a 9mm SFS but can't find/afford one right now.

I just thought I'd post a pic of the family with the newest member.

From top to bottom: Browning MkIIIS, FN MkIIIS, FM-Argentine M95 Classic (essentially a MkIIIS).

Anyone have any experience with MecGar 15 round mags for the BHP? I'm thinking about ordering a couple and just wanted to get some feedback before I do. Thanks.

Yep, I've used the 15-rounders with nary a problem. IMO, they're great. Pick 'em up while you can.

I have an FM that came with Hogue wrap-arounds.

This thing is an absolute tack driver!

Any ideas of what color wooden grips look best with the black color of the FMs?

I have trouble imagining what would look best with a black frame and slide...light colored wood, or dark colored wood?

Picked up my first Hi-Power about 20 minutes ago :D It's an FN-marked&made MkIII in .40sw. Being in California, I only get 10 rounds in a magazine, so I figured I might as well make them .40s instead of 9mms.

Sadly, it's actually not going to be for me... my wife found out that the HP fits her a lot better than the Kimber .45 she was shooting  I'm really just the manual labor.. going to gently de-horn and probably need to refinish the HP, then place it at my wife's feet. She's just trying to decide on the colors now :p

This is a pic of my Hi Power along with my PPK. I was a helicopter crew member in Nam and carried the Hi Power every day. Personal weapons were not legal to carry in Nam but my Commanding Officer was cool with it.

New (to me) Classic BHP

Made in '69. Small military type sights and small safety. Accurate as any semi auto I've ever shot.

Count me in

Have two FN 9mm Hi-Powers with SFS safety. Sorry no pics, but will upload some soon.:)

Hawk

what is that marking behind your cocking serrations that looks like the state of Alaska?

BTW, nice looking HP.

It's the state of Alaska.

The build was by Wild West in Anchorage. There's a little "W W" in the state graphic.

They didn't charge extra charge for the advertisement. :0 Doesn't look bad, though.
