Do you collect any actual Makarovs?

I got my first MAK, a ruskie, in RVN in 1969. I have never shot it, altho I brought home a hand full of ammo.
When they became available I bought a chicom, which I have shot. I also added an east German when they hit the market. I have yet to add a Bulgarian, but I will eventually.
My shooter though is a PA 63. I like it best because it is a knock off of the Walther PP only in a much better caliber! I also have a Turkish Kirkale in 9mmk (380) which I used to shoot a lot till I got the PA 63 - MUCH better caliber in a pistol that I like for small carry!!!

I have a Russian commercial double stack in 9x18. Very nice shooter and I would love to find some reasonable priced mags for.

I also have a PA63 in 9x18 that is a great gun that I paid very little for.

I always recommend Marschal grips for any of the comblock and Europe pistols. My CZson and PA63 both sport some.

John,
Its a Russian commercial model with a "satin" stainless steel frame. I've only ever seen them in 380

I only have 2 "real" Makarovs; an East German and a "sneak" Russian. If the Bulgarians were C&R I would have had one long ago.

9x18 Mak is not my favorite round, it's kind of wimpy and new brass ammo is expensive. But I reload for it and I like the pistols that are chambered for it.

Recently acquired Norinco Chinese Makarov

The Chicom Mak (Norinco) is one of my grails as I have Maks from all the other countries that produced them. I should have bought one back in the 90's when they were reasonable. :(

I've collected several "actual" Makarovs
- 1976 Soviet Makarov PM
- Bulgarian Makarov
- East German Makarov
- IZH Commercial Makarov

I also have some "virtual" Makarovs (9x18 caliber, but not actually Makarovs)
- CZ 82
- Polish P-64 Czak
- Polish P-83 Wanad

Had a Hungarian FEG, but traded that away some years ago.

Thanks for the info, I should've realized they'd be all steel. :)
At the last Dixie Gun and Knife Classic in Raleigh, I paused to oogle an all blue commercial Russian in .380, should probably have done more than pause. It was $279, seems like the going rate now.

Had a Hungarian FEG, but traded that away some years ago.
I still want an FEG, to get a complete collection of the 9x18 family someday. I think IV8888 said something about them not being the most durable, but a Kollection isn't Komplete without all the members, da?
