Do you customize your handguns?

Most handguns stay the way they are when i buy them, with the exception the guns i use for competition:

CZ SP 01: sights & grips
Walter GSP: grips
S&W 629: grips

On the G43X I intend on purchasing..I've already predetermined I'm changing out the sights and trigger.

Until the re-introduction of the ACP revolver, several gunsmiths made a living doing the conversion. Same for the 44 Special.

Wisely chosen modifications often do not hurt resale.

Very true, those gun mods/customization that you described are more or less purpose rebuilds there Strawhat.;)

Most everything gets treated to custom grips. Semi autos get upgraded to night sights. Almost all ofmy revolvers have trigger work performed.

Except for some highlighting in white of the name, type engraved parts of my various Glocks, no. I DID add a DPM recoil reduction spring/guide rod on my Glock 26(bum wrist and thumb)..works great with ZERO failures. I have tried some brighter front sights, but have always gone back to factory sights..just need t keep them clean. My son has done all sorts of blingy stuff on his G17/5..but nothing internal. Don't get that, kinda like prettying up your favorite hammer..For my revolver..I looked and found something specific so no need to change that.

I don't get too crazy. I replace a set of grips here or there, but that's about it.
I did do a bit of customization to my S&W Shields as I was constantly grabbing the wrong one from the dark, gloomy safe.

My rule of thumb is "don't do anything to a gun that can't easily and/or quickly be undone".;)
Exactly my thinking. Also anything that may make it less reliable or doing work that is above my pay grade.Like Clint said, " a man's got to know his limitations."

I don't customize just to put my personal mark on them. I only change things I don't like and think I can improve. I have a couple M&P pistols and other than installing the size of palmswell grip I liked I shoot them just the way I bought them. I then bought a Ruger Security 9 and found a couple things I didn't like about it the first time I shot it, as I was comparing it to the Smith Compact that is similar in size. I thought the Ruger trigger sucked, the grip was too slippery and it had too much muzzle flip.

I changed the trigger, added a grip sleeve and went to a solid rod on the recoil spring assembly. It is in my opinion much better now.

Well, my EDC is a Colt Combat Commander, Clark-style carry melted, bobtailed, new grips, bushing, tritium front sight, long trigger, and extractor. I guess I've changed it.

OTOH, I don't mess with S&W revolvers other than retiming worn actions, because you shouldn't mess with perfection.
I used to cut the trigger return springs on S&W revolvers, to get a better double-action pull for competition.
