Do you have a colored gun?

I have several PSA daggers and I ordered a grey, an OD green, and a tan one just so I can tell them apart. I'm not a fan of colored guns so other than that everything I own is just black, blued, or stainless.

Savage Rascals were available with stocks of various colors back in 2017 when I got one that was not only on sale, but had a $50. rebate from Savage. I couldn't say no because I wanted it so the step grand daughters could have something that would fit them. They were selling fast due to the rebate and being on sale at the same time. There were only two left in stock; both pink, so no color choice for me. View attachment 1249296.. Nice little rifle, even us old adults enjoy it. The kids have pretty much outgrown it so it now sports an O.D. Green stock thanks to Rust-Oleum spray paint, that I don't currently have a decent picture of. A lot of good memories with this gun for me, and I know the kids will always remember it as what they learned to shoot with.
I almost forgot the kid's Rascal. And yes I think I enjoy shooting it just as much as the girls. I am looking forward to them outgrowing it so I can reclaim it as mine. I'm leaving the pink stock on it though.

I mean they make a decent argument. Whether or not I get my first one colored or buy it colored, don't know. But false accusations should be penalized as hard or harder as the original supposed threat. Just my opinion.

Every gun is colored, some more brightly than others, but all are colored.
Gun makers do this so you know if your holster is empty or not. Also so you can find your rifle.

I don't yet, but perhaps I will soon.
I talked to someone who had had some a-hole report to the police that he had pulled a gun on him.
Fortunately, he had the presence of mind to ask the officer what color that gun was.
When he was told, "Black, or silver, or something" he laughed, and produced his raspberry framed semi.
Done deal.
Seems like (potentially) a good defense to prosecution.
I certainly never considered this eventuality, but it's worth thinking about.

Blue steel, stainless, hard chrome and wood grips. No pink, purple, brown or green, looks to much like a cheap toy.

Yes I have colored guns. All my guns are black, silver or wood or a combination of the three colors but nothing weird.

This is about as colorful as I get with colored guns...

I actually do have a “colored gun”, but it stays at home. It’s not a gun I carry. I do keep ready for HD.

I am convinced Snap-On made black screwdrivers for so long just so you would lose them and have to buy more. Can't warranty it if it's lost.
I like bright colored knives and tools. But for reasons listed I think a poor choice do to that with guns, especially self defense. I you need neon gun so you don't misplace, you probably should not own a gun.

Michael Bane suggests that shooting rimfires should be fun and should employ fun colors. So when I built out my latest Rimfire Rifle Iron Sights I went with a red barrel shroud. For my black Optic gun I at least added a touch of red out on the end.

So I watched this ARMED ATTORNEYS video. It kinda made sense. So when I saw a cheap purple Taurus on GB, I nabbed it up.

Do you have a colored gun?
Outside of a "Flat Dark Earf" XDS, no. Blued, stainless, or black plastic.

I wouldn't be afraid of it, though. EAA had a line of interestingly colored CZ75 clones for a few years. I forget what they called them. Aimed at the female buyer. Blue or purple plastic frames with metallic flecks. I'd get one, if it presented itself. Secure in my "sort of" masculinity.

Bwana, being pretty good at custom mixing colors, I cheated:

On my HK91, it was custom epoxy green refinished by RDTS, and I used automotive enamel to paint the stock, handguard, and grip to match.

The green Steiner 4X was a happy accident as it matched fine as-is.

The FAL para was done in OD Duracoat all over, some bits are in black. The wooden bits are stained a bit red to match the Garolite stock tube.

The only gun I currently own is that isn't black, blued & wood or stainless is a PSA Dagger. The frame is black. The slide is what PSA calls Sniper Green.
I have been eye balling the Ruger American Gen 2 rifle. If I buy one I want will most likely go with the gray one because of the barrel length.

A long time ago I had a Kel-Tec P-11 that I rattle canned because the slide was rusting. If memory serves I painted the slide black & the frame a maroon color. Before I passed it along I removed the paint. It came off pretty easily with a solvent.
