Do you still have your first firearm?

yep.... went into Wal Mart almost 20 years ago and bought a Winchester pump, Model 1300 with the new Winchoke setup.... If I remember right, I think it was about 180.00 out the door....

Yes. It's a Remington 514 .22lr bolt action single shot. Got it for my ninth Christmas in 1962. Don't shoot it much anymore due to poor eyesight.

Yes and no. The no is that my first gun was an old H&R 410 single shot shotgun. I gave it to my uncle because dogs were chasing the horses at his stables and pests were in his garden. I don't think he ever got close enough to use that shotgun. Yes I have the first handgun my dad bought me, a 6" Colt Python. Yes again because I have the first handgun I bought for myself, a 4" S&W model 28-2 Highway Patrolman.

Yes. Mossberg 320KA single shot .22 bolt action with Weaver 4X scope. Dad gave it to me in 1959. I have put 10s of thousands of rounds through it and it still shoots great. Recently took it to the range and while it's slow to load and fire, it's still loads of fun. Lots of memories wrapped up in that rifle. I'll never sell it.

1951 I purchased a Savage 22/410 over/under
My brother lost it in the woods. He gave me his Marlin 39A--I was happy !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!--:):):):):)
Later on I purchased a Savage 24V (same gun)

Yup. A Remington 870 Express Magnum 12 Gauge. It was my 18th b-day present. The first one I ever bought for myself was a Ruger 10/22. I still own both of them.

No, of probably the first 30 or so firearms I owned, only my Marlin Glenfield Model 60 remains.

Given that I cannot afford to keep them all, I keep the ones I really like. The rest get sold and replaced...hopefully, with something I really like :)

After about 25 years of trying, I am finally getting a little better at figuring out what I might really like and buying it...and not having to sell it later.
Even at this point I can count my keep-it-five-years rate at about one in three.

Call me fickle, because I am... :)

Yep, the 10/22 I got when I turned 9. Still stock except for the sear and hammer. Pretty beat up from years of squirrel hunting and plinking. I plan on teaching my girls to shoot with it in a couple years as well. :)

Yes, still have the Winchester Model 250 lever action my dad got for me in 1972. Now that you mention it, I think I need to drag it out and put a few rounds through it somtime soon.

Do you still have your first firearm?

Unfortunately, No -

First Rifle - Ruger M77 in .308 bought in 1976. Traded for a Mossberg 500 12 ga. a year later...

First Pistol - Ruger Blackhawk (6 1/2" barrel) in .41 Magnum, bought in 1977 at the 8th Army Rod and Gun Club in Seoul, So Korea. Traded year and a half later for a Smith & Wesson Model 57 in .41 Magnum...

And no, I don't have those guns anymore, either.

In my safe. A Savage mod. 24, .22/410...the stock looks like its been in a cat fight...from kicking through all the briers while rabbit hunting! Still my favorite small game getter. :D

I have every weapon I have ever owned. Every stick, staff, spear, spike, knife, shuriken, nunchaku, gun, sword, and many other weapons English doesn't even have words for. The very idea of letting a weapon go is so insane to me as to be unthinkable.

If you decided that you needed a particular weapon, and then later decided to get rid of it, then you didn't need it in the first place.

Yes, I understand that there is some weird subculture of freaky people who buy, sell, trade firearms, but I don't understand anything about that. That's just crazy weird.
