Does anyone else still own "gunbelts"?

I'm wearing one, does that count? From Crossbreed, great belt.

I have this one from a guy in East Palestine, Ohio...with a Craig C. holster. ;)

I have one I made. It's not a keep your pants up type but strap around your rear one. Plain jane and made from a saddle girth blank and has the only plain jane holster I have ever made on it. With my get along problems it has seen no use for a few years. I doubt I will ever use it again but it will hold up anything I want to carry if I do.

The last leather gunbelt holster combo I had was a Ted Blocker LFI rig. The belt was lined in velcro and the holster used a velcro "tab" that allowed the holster to be positioned how and where ever you wanted. Worked really well when new, but as time went on and things started to wear, not so much.

That was also the last leather belt I used for a gun belt. Once the web Instructor belts started showing up I never went back to leather. They just held up a lot better to daily use, and their infinite size adjustment really beats trying to "hit a hole" in the leather belts.

I have several and like all of them. Milt Sparks and Bob Mernickle are two rigs that really stand out for me, and I do mean to someday have a "full dress" rig from El Paso Saddlery. My Mernickle rig, made for my engraved Vaquero, is my favorite BBQ setup - I'll take a picture when I get home, if I remember.

While I do still use them for "outdoorsman" kind of stuff, though, I've gotten away from them for EDC since discovering the adjustable "ratchet" belts from places like Nexbelt. They match "business dress" much better than do more traditional belts, and I really appreciate being able to easily and precisely adjust them between sitting, standing, "before and after" meals, etc. Not a lot of "pride of ownership, of course...

No matching rigs for me but I've been very happy with a "Beltman" dual bull hide belt with a liner/stiffener. I've worn it every time I've had pants on since I bought it no matter what I'm doing. Looks good enough to wear going to dinner or to cut and split wood. I do appreciate the fine leather craft posted but I live in an area where I wouldn't be able show it off. My holsters are meant to be unseen except here sometimes.

I’ve been using Beltman belts for years. The same you order. They are awesome.

I have two, complete with cartridge loops. One made by my son is 2-1/2" wide and made from saddle skirting leather. It'll support a 50 oz Ruger .44 Magnum BH and 1/2 a box of LSWC's comfortably....if you're mounted on horseback! The rig weighs a ton.

The other is one that I made up to emulate Duke Wayne's rough-out money belt/gun belt seen in so many of his movies. The rough out leather, doubled back on itself to form the hollow money belt, is fairly light; 6-7 oz and is much lighter on the waist that the heavier one. I made it up into a 2" width and it really is comfortable to wear afoot, even with the 12 loops filled. No pics of either one, but I'll try to get some manana.

But for 99% of the time, I wear a 1-1/2" wide, heavy leather belt that goes with my daily attire and is perfect as a gun belt as well. Here it is with my 686 in another of my home-made creations. Looks like I could have gone to 1-3/4" and still had room in the belt loops in those Tractor Supply or Levis jeans....Best Regards, Rod
