Springfield Armory has a ported XD. Has anyone here tried one?

Reduces muzzle flip, makes it easier for follow-up shots. I would only get the ported if you plan to use it just for range shooting or competition. The ports get dirty really easily, and it makes a big flash which could ruin night vision if used for defensive purposes. Also it could burn you if fired from the hip in a defensive scenario where you didn't have a choice.

We've had two of the 9MM ported XD's as rentals. Both of them broke in the same way. The thin strip in the front of the slide that is between the barrel ports cracked at the front and the strip of metal bent upwards. Both times the shooters came out and said, suddenly, I couldn't see the front sight. When we sent the second one back, we asked for a non-ported replacement and SA sent one. No problems other than that.

Xd 9-v10

I have the XD 9 - v10 and like it. I have had it for 4 years and thousands of rounds thru it with no problems. The only draw back is that the slide gets dirty and takes extra cleaning, no big deal. For self defense the only draw back would be the extra noise and some gas exposer if point shooting. :)

Thanks. I was just curious. I picked up the regular XD 9 sub-compact this afternoon.
