I have heard people complaining about some of Para's stuff before, but wanted to hear it from someone that actually owns the pistol. What do you think of it? Would you put your life or someone else's on the line with this weapon?
I've mentioned this in an older thread before, but I am limited to DAO for work. This is the closest I will ever come to a 1911 that I can carry while working, or off-duty either since we have restrictions on that also. So, I deal with what I have to deal with.

    southlak9cop,

I have had a couple of PO's but not that particular one. There were fine and I had no problems with them. Shot many several thousand rounds of both FMJ and JHP bullets without any jams or malfunctions. One that I carried for over a year is the Carry 12 LDA.
If you dont get what you are looking for here, go over to:

    or

Both have threads for the Para Ordnance guns and a lot of great information.

I have the hi-cap stainless nite-tac LDA and it hasn't missed a beat. I do have some niggles though:

    1. I had to do some work to the stock barrel bushing, it had quite a large burr in it.

    2. The LDA trigger takes some getting used to, it felt great in the store but on the range its an entirely different matter.

    3. I wish that Para offered different trigger parts. For example I'd prefer a textured face on the trigger and a shorter take-up. I know that a shorter take-up kind of defeats the purpose of an LDA, but so what?

Sorry I almost forgot to answer the most important part.

Yes, I do put my life and my family's life on the line with this pistol. It is my primary HD weapon.

There's actually a review of the same gun (i'm almost positive) in the most recent issue of Combat Handguns.
