so how does it do with cast bullets as I never hear anyone loading and shooting cast bullets in a 243? so please kindly share your experiences and loads etc, please? thanks!!
Ive never done it but Im sure it can be done. But you are likely going to lose the main benefit of the overbore 243. While its not on the same level as something based off a long cartridge like a 25-06, its still supposed to be fast. Not sure how fast you can push a cast lead bullet even with a gas check.
I expect to push a 80 grain jacketed bullet above 3000 fps and a 100 grain jacketed to about 2900. Lead couldnt handle that and at least the Lee manual doesn't list a lead load in the book. I know the have some greatly reduced lead loads for 308 but I dont see any for a 243.
