Does anyone name their handguns?

I'm just asking because I typically name a pistol or revolver within a few days after the purchase. I always use girl names, but for the bigger cartridges I use names that are more common for "homely" women. I was just wondering if this was normal. I traded in a couple of guns recently and I said to the dude at the counter, "Yeah, I'm gonna miss Bertha and Gertrude." He looked at me like I was freakin' nuts.

I just tell people to say hello to my little friends. If they're particularly big like a shotgun, then they get the title of badboy.

I don't name my guns --No way I could ever come up with enough names! I had enough problems naming my kid and dogs.

If I was to name them, then the Colt Systema would be Eva or Evita and my Yugo SKS would be Tito.

Because someday I plan on concealed carry and using my new CZ82 as the one I have by my side, I think I will just call that one comrade.

My wife and I have 'code' words/names that we can use to refer to our carry guns.

If I ask about 'peaches', or she asks about 'socks', we each know the other isn't talking about food or clothing.

My carry gun is "Miss Anne". Short for Miss Anne Thrope. Named her because it made it easier to discuss her whereabouts when necessary, without being a giveaway. ("Is Miss Anne coming with us?" "Of course!")

The kids' plinking rifle is "The Wizard." Dunno why, that's just what they started calling it one day and it stuck.
