Don't forget... they all have crimped primer pockets...

Might be better to sell them for scrap....

I was checking these out. If you want to get into the remanufactured ammo business, the opening bid's only $35. ;)

    Step 1 - Buy Brass

    Step 3 - Profit!

Does anybody know what step 2 is? Anybody?

    What???? No 10mm brass?!?!?

Really bummed about that  ......

    Red Tornado,

Where's Step 2? Hmmmm, do we need a Congressional investigation into this missing Step 2? It has to be a conspiracy of some sort between right wing hate mongering gun nuts and the arms industry! Do it for the(oh, not again :barf: ) children!

I'm about an hour's drive away. To bad I don't reload either rifle caliber. If I got all that brass cheap I'd feel obligated to buy a couple more rifles to save money. Ya think my wife would buy that logic?

    $35 for 6 tons of .308, .223 and 9mm brass?

Anybody with a slide rule know how many cases that is? Are we into the millions?

In the Sacramento area, I can take scrap brass (rifle range pick ups) and turn them in for .70 cents per pound. I usually wait until I get a few five gallon buckets full and get about $100 at the recycling place. I re-invest that money at the gunstore and replenish powder, primers, etc that I've used over the last month or two.

    12,000 lbs X .70/pound = $8,400

If I were closer to MO, I'd buy it. ;)

I'd guess the shipping would be $1500 or so common carrier. If someone lived close and had a decent size truck they could make a killin'. Sure would take a while to polish all that in my little blue tumbler :) Anyone want to go halves on it.

I have been looking for another source of once-fired military brass, but that is NOT what I had in mind. Nice find though.

Well the auction closed at $14,600. That's way higher than I thought it would go.

Aww, heck, you're going at it wrong!

Take the brass to Wild Sports in Orangevale. If it's something they need, they'll pay cash. If I remember correctly, I was getting $1.00 for every 20 pieces of sorted rifle brass, and I was a range officer at Lincoln, so I brought home oodles of it. ;)

I am sorting the range pick up brass I have and I plan on selling it at the next gunshow. Just deprime it and give it a tumble cleaning and I should be able to make good money on it. That or scrap, whatever will give me more money.

How gorched do y'all think the stuff will be, considering that it may have been MG brass?

Let's see... Harbor Freight concrete mixers for tumblers, a few Dillon 1050s... Lots and lots of projectiles and powder... At a nickel/case, plus $0.02 for the primer, a nickel for the bullet, and a nickel for powder, we're looking at $0.17 each. 10 rounds $1.70, 100 for $17, 1000 for $170.

Now, given that the average shooter is pretty cheap, they're gonna be just buying Wolf.
