The past few days I've been cleaning out my reloading area and i have a 5 gallon bucket full of junk brass. I've been trying to find brass prices online and cant seem to come up with anything conclusive. Is this somthing worth looking into or should i just forget about it?

I found one website that was saying 2.11$ altho im sure it all depends on location. Maybe ill just keep hoarding it untill i have a ton :)

I scrap brass all the time. Split necks, AMERC, badly corroded, dented, stuff like that. I toss it in a bucket and once or twice a year it goes to the scrap yard. Suggestion: CALL AHEAD and ask what they pay for yellow brass. You may find a wide variety of prices paid. Don't take the first offer, shop around a bit, whether you're buying or selling.

It varies but it was $1.55/lb lastime I went. Also took some aluminum siding .40/lb
and some steel strapping, only.09/lb

Last May I sold 2 five gallon bucks at 1.60 a pound. I've amassed 5 five gallon buckets since then and was quoted 1.20 pound last week. They weigh about 40 pound each. I live near a public range and go there a few times a week and pick up brass.

I was looking to buy bulk, unsorted brass. I checked with our local scrapyard today, they currently pay 1.78 per lb.

I don't know a fair price to offer to buy for my use.
