Dumb question from a not so Newbie but I've never owned a Colt commander before. I'm thinking the mags between the commander and a full sized 1911 are the same but neeed confirmation. Just put $ down on a new old stock commander and won't get to pick it up for a few days. I've got plenty of full sized mags already.

Yes. Commander and Govt. Model are the same size frame. Officer's ACP is smaller.

And the Officer's size will still take the Govt/Commander mags, too. They just stick out a little bit.

(just don't seat it too hard if the slide is locked back)

commander has same frame size, but shorter barrel as compared to a govt model.
