I'm looking at various leather shoulder holsters for a Glock 19. I know the pros and cons of them already.

My question is, does the shoulder strap width matter in all day comfort?

Example of wider straps:

Example of narrower straps:

Like you mention, the wider strap spreads the load out for longer comfort in carrying. Plus, that wide strap doesn't dig in to you like a narrow strap could. Same as 1" rifle strap isn't quite as long term comfy as a 1-1/4" strap or a hunting type rifle strap with a broad section for the shoulder.

I had a nice and wide shoulder rig for a model 19 that had two speedloaders and a handcuff case on the other side. All-day wear was no problem.

I also had a thin-strap rig for a Glock 19 with two mags in the other. This seemed to bite into me more after a short period of time. I prefer the wider straps.

The only issue I had with the wider straps is they can be more easily visible if a breeze catches your jacket and blows it open if the top half is unbuttoned/unzipped. Not a big deal, but it has happened to me a time or two.
