Donn's Guns -- Montgomeryville, PA -- Gone?

Anybody from the area know whats up with them? Went by the other day and looks like the place has been emptied out. Did they move or are they done? Last I was in there they didnt seem to have to much on the racks or in the cases. Archery Outfitters down the road seemed like they were a little anemic too.

I'm right in your area. Last I heard was that Donn's got robbed again, and that they decided to call it quits, after encouragement from their insurance co.

But at this moment, this is heresay, and I do not trust the info completely.

Do you know Target World, located at Rt. 202 & County Line Road? I'll bet they know what's up.

I don't know the details of why Don's closed but it is reopening.

Last time I stopped by, it was vacant but a sign was up stating they were closed for remodeling and would reopen soon but under a different name.

Last weekend I was in at Archery Outfitters (right name?) just up 309 and heard a conversation about this.

They indicated the store was definately reopening.

Yep,I saw the same sign and there were painters in there..well...painting stuff. Wonder if it`s going to be under new management? Marcus

Don sold the place along with the name of the business. I've heard that Donn will still be lurking around, but he's pretty much done with it.

Don`s Guns old location is now Dell`s Firearms Specialists. I stopped in today and had a look around. It looks pretty much the same except for some fresh paint. They`re still getting their inventory in but they`ve got a pretty good selection of handguns,new and antique and a nice assortment of Garands,M1 carbines and `03 Springfields among other things. Some nice WW2 artifacts too. Don`s not involved at all in the new place but the new owner used to work for him. Nice guy,I talked to him for quite a while. Stop in and see him if you`re in the area. Yeah, back in March of 2002 I bought a Mustang Plus II from Donn's. At that time he was selling the business. He ran adds in Gun List magazine. I believe that Dell used to work for Target World before he went to work for Donn.
