What would be your doom's day gun? Mine would have to be a glock 17. I love it to death and it is the most reliable i have ever owned or fired.

Do you mean war in the streets or the gun you want to be buried with when you pass on?

Glock 17 is a good choice.

We have a Sig 226 in 9mm, which I affectionately refer to as our zombie gun. Accurate, fast follow-up shots, will eat anything, and has 15-round mags. I love it, and wish we had another, plus about 10 more mags and a few cases of ammo.

Like Ala Dan, you'd need several for different encounters.

    * XD .45 with 5+ clips as a sidearm
    * AR15 M4 .223 as the primary
*DPMS LR .308 for long range
    * last but not least and of course winchester 1300 defender 12 ga.

I second Ala Dan and add one alternative:

    Pistol: Springfield Armory XD-45

Rifle: Any good AR15 from A-B-C-R

    Shotgun: Remington 870 Police
    Honorable mention to Mossberg 590A1

    Temporary thread hi-jack:
    • Why does a person need an AR?
    • How does one go about getting one?
    • Wouldn't it be better to own a 9mm carbine/handgun combo for Doomsday?

Doom's day??? So, wouldn't be most of the population already be gone??? If so, I'd just need one more shot to join them :scrutiny:

Now if it were a SHTF thing, I'd go w/ one of my USPs (45 acp or 9mm), my M1A, RRA AR and my Winchester defender :D

I don’t subscribe to SHTF scenarios, but as my wife points out, I’m often wrong about so many other things…

So here’s what I’ve got on hand just in case:

    Pistol: Les Baer 1911

    Rifle: DSA SA58 Para .308

    Shotgun: Benelli M1S90

    DOOMS-DAY, mmmmmmm...

A suppressed M3 Grease Gun with a huge bag of mags and a 1911A1 on my hip.

Or my typical "Oh! crap gun", My 1894C Marlin and a huge bag of ammo.

As someone else mentioned, I'm not worried about the apocalypse. Well at least not yet.

    But just in case..........

Rifle: M14 with a stack of mags (although I'm starting to like these damn ARs more every day)

Pistol: Les Baer 1911 Concept II .45 ACP

Shotgun: Remington 870P Max, or a Beretta 1201FP for backup

A Browning Hi-Power. If everything's going to ****, you might as well have a handgun that's a pleasure to shoot.

I would just load up all my guns and rifles and cycle through them. If I had to carry them then I would carry my FAL, 1911, and an AK underfolder.

    From Preditor

I want the mini-gun that Jessie Ventura has. I mean, if the S is hitting the fan big time, and there is no way of returning to any type of civilization, I want that thing.

If i can't have that, I want a pair of Thompson sub's with the drum mags. Then i'll put on my pinstripe 3 piece suit and go out in style.

Well, outside of a Vulcan, I guess my doomsday gun wouldn't be a pistol at all. Heck, it's doomsday, whos gonna give me a hassle? No, my gun would be my SKS. It's not the most modern gun in the world, but they are reliable, have a better cartridge for doomsday operations than do the AR's, and in the case of my SKS carbine, are just as short and handy. In the case of my other SKS, they also have a bayonet, allowing me to poke my way through doomsday lines at the 7-11. I would likely carry a pistol as backup, and given that capacity is king with the large, unruly doomsday crowds, I would go with my PT-99. I would prefer .45, but spraying down a doomsday crowd is easier with 14 shots than it is with 7.

    LET ME CLARIFY!

Well i meant pistol's but i would definately have my bushmaster and my remington on hand. And i am sorry let me clarify. The new wall being built start's havok and all hell break's loose with rioting and looting. The national guard need's reenforcement's form the civilian sector to keep the peace in the street's and the "non-violent" protestor's are showing there true color's kind of doom's day.

A .22 rifle, a pair of good knives, and a USGI .45 autopistol...Remington Rand or Colt, please, and heavy on the .22 ammo. I'll avoid fights like cooties, but rednecks still gotta eat.;)

Right now I think it would be my Glock 20 with a handful of mags and a conversion barrel to .40 S&W or a 4" TacSol Mk II .22LR as a secondary weapon, and a Fulton Armory 18" M14 dropped into a Sage Chop Mod with a 1-4 Nightforce or a DS Arms Para Congo with an ACOG as my primary.
