Dot failed mid-qualifying. :(

I have had my dots quit several times in matches so I just stick a new battery in prior to every match. I have had several types over the years. At present I have three 2 MOA Gilmore tube dots and a Trigicon non battery operated lit combat sight.

Iron sights aren't fool proof either. Had the front sight break off on a Ruger SR1911. May have been MIM? Kept firing anyway, accuracy went down a bit....

Get home, call Ruger, gal says send the slide. "Not the whole firearm?" Nope. Oh Boy, Post Office and no FFL intermediary required. Got it back in about a week.
