I sure am tired of seeing a post on this site, then jumping over to another site, and see the exact same post - by the same guy, of course!! :fire:

Why does someone need 40 answers (on 2 different sites) to "what's wrong with ...?" when he got the answer within the first 10 posts on the first site??

Ah, now I get it. We need some software geek to develop a new site that combines posts from 2 or 3 or 4 different sites, while filtering out the redundant garbage. Who wants to chip in $20??

Different people, different answers, better understanding overall. Unless it is something that clearly has a single best answer, which is rarely the case. I don't know what posts you specifically mention, but I think having more answers and opinions from different people is always better.

I do it all the time. When you are seeking opinions, more is better. Hopefully some software company will invent a program which doesn't force you to read post you do not want to. Back in my day we just skipped the thread topics that did not interest us. :uhoh:

If someone is asking the question "what is wrong with......" it means he doesn't know the answer. Should we cap the thread at 10 answers and hope he gets the right one. I look for multiple answers that are the same, which gives me confidence that the answer is correct. If it bothers you that much, why don't you just skip it?

Honestly, you do realize that these boards are for DISCUSSION? Nothing wrong with getting as many people involved in the DISCUSSION.

Ironically, you posted the same thing on another board:

Of course, it was 6 years ago, so maybe there is some kind of statute of limitations for this sort of thing. :)

Since there is no way to stop users from getting multiple opinions from multiple sources, it seems the easiest solution is just to stick to reading posts on one forum.

I do find it annoying when someone joins a bunch of boards to shill or someone posts their same crazy theory about whatever on a bunch of forums, but it comes with the territory.
