Dove season opens in Northern Alabama in 4 hours and 54 minutes. Got plenty of birds over top sown wheat and water at my place. Brother #1 is flying in from Pittsburgh and Brother #2 is driving up from Tuscaloosa. With some local friends and my two sons I believe it's going to be a good one. Fixing to go fire up the grill and get lunch ready which will mostly consist of last years kill. Maybe, just Maybe, this year I can out shoot my youngest brother and my oldest son cause we have a cup of coffee riding on it this year. Hate to lose a cup of coffee. Man I got to go, now its only 4 hours and 49 minutes till time to shoot

Have fun. We opened central zone Sunday and opens the 20th. I'm not having a group down for the south zone opener, will just be me. Most of the fun is in hunting with friends and/or family. That's what makes dove season so special, well that and it's the dawn of a new hunting season. :D

Have a Great day! I had a great season opener last Sunday and wish you the same. No better way to spend time with family and friends!

Ours opened last weekend and the early reports are low bird counts in our area. Unfortunately, I haven't made it out yet. Closes next weekend and doesn't open again til Oct.

Youngest brother got the cup of coffee - again. I might as well give up trying to out shoot him. We all had a blast. Other than last year I think this was the best hunt I've been on. The grill master done a great job with lunch. The birds flew well all day. Everyone got a limit except my niece who had never shot before. We got to get a shotgun in her hands at the skeets more.
