I have been invited to a shoot opening day. I have not shot at a bird in years. I have actually done some trading over the past few years and find that I no longer have my 12ga so I am not sure what set up to use. I will be using a 20ga pump. I would like recommendations on which choke to use. What number shells and any pointers on increasing my luck would be greatly apreciated.

It varies from person to person, but *I* use a MOD choke and #7.5 shot(whatever brand wally world has the cheapest).
Tips:
Watch the bird, not the sights.
Know where the birds frequent and set up with enough people to keep 'em moving.

Whatever shotgun and choke you've run a couple cases through since June will do fine.
I tend to use a LM choke and trap loads with 7 1/2 shot. Second choice, IC.

I like 7 1/2s, too. In my 20, with IC, he gets into about 25 yards, I own him. Modified gets me out to 35 or so. If he's farther than that, he's safe. I tried IC/full last year, but full is just too much choke, gotta be WAY out there and you really have to be on him. With my 12 gauge auto, I choke modified.
As for ammo, I picked up some 100 round federal bulk pack at wallyworld the other day. It patterns decent. I've got five boxes of Winchester AA left for the 20, but it's sorta getting expensive. It sure patterns well, though. I have some boxes of Winchester super speed to shoot up in 12 gauge. It's all 7 1/2. The 12 gauge is 1 ounce loads and the 20 gauge stuff is all 7/8 ounce.
I've run a couple BOXES through mine since May. LOL Have to do. That was at a club country doubles shoot I didn't win. Oh, well...LOL Year before last I shot 3.5 boxes of 12s for 3 limits and last year I shot about 4 boxes for 3 limits with the 20. I think switching the back trigger from full to mod will help. I missed some birds with that full choke, did much better on the IC choke. I ain't the world's greatest wing shot, but I do have fun. As Dave alludes to, I probably don't practice enough at the range. I tend to get better as the year goes on. I do a little better on ducks. Ain't so much the size as the fact that doves are wily little farts that don't seem to like getting shot at and dodge and dart and seem to have better aerobatic skills. One afternoon I went 9 for 11, best I've ever done. To this day I don't know how I did it. Luck, I guess. LOL

I'd bring two boxes. If you are hunting a tank setup, then I like a skeet choke or SK/IC on a double. If you are pass shooting high birds, mod is a good choice. If you are in a hot field, I would use open chokes and pick your shots.

If you aren't pass shooting an improved cylinder is a good choice with 11/4oz or more 71/2 or 8 shot - doves don't take a lot of killing. If you are pass shooting a modified choke is a good choice. As far as set up, a prominent feature such as a break in the tree line (gap or noticeably lower spot), a large dead tree, the corners of a field have been productive spots for me. If you are shooting over a water hole, doves like to land in a dead tree, scope out the area, then land on the ground to drink or pick up grit. If jump shooting and the doves aren't too spooked, an improved cylinder is a good choice. I have found IC to be good out to at least 25 yds if you have shells with the right shot charge.
