So I've decided to kill some birds this year. Unfortunately I only have one shotgun and one 18" barrell. I was thinking a 26" with skeet choke. But here's the question: Should I buy another barrell for my 870 (and where could I find one cheap)? Or buy another 870 I saw at big 5 that's set up the way I want for $240? Hurry seasons already started!

That's one of the things I could never figure. In some cases, a new barrel is maybe 60-75% of the cost of a new firearm.

If you get the new gun, it should have maybe 3 chokes.

FWIW...I'd shy away from the Wal-Mart specials. They are made differently from regular Remingtons

I don't know about where you live, but two of my local gunshops have racks of assorted shotgun barrels (used) in the $50 range for most models.

wal-mart specials

i don't know about that  ,if they are made different or not but i bought an 870 express at walmart and it works great and shoots straight love it,paid $223.00 about a year ago and never had an issue with it:)
