Anyone have any experience with DS Arms? I'm thinking about building a M4 and they have a good price on a upper. Its non chromelined and a 1-9 twist, but it doesn't need to be chrome if I am just plinking.

I have one of there uppers and have had no issues as of yet ( only several hundred rds down range ) yes there not chrome lined bbl's however they are Nitride Treated Chrome Moly. overall yes I would buy one again.

Had a problem with a DSA FAL a couple years ago. It was a brand new rifle and had a pretty serious and not easily fixable problem that required it to be sent back. It was annoying to send back a new rifle but they did get it fixed quickly and sent back.

I bought a blem lower to build my AR on. the blem's were hardly noticeable. The problem was, the mag button off my stag LPK wouldn't fit in the hole. they replaced the lower and supplied a DPMS mag button that did fit in the hole. My stag button didn't fit in the new lower either. I think it was an issue of tolerance stacking. (Slightly small hole, slightly oversize button) Their CS was great, they covered shipping etc. The upper to lower fit with my spikes upper wasn't real tight, but an o-ring under the front lug and and accuwedge tightened it all right up. If I need an upper today would buy the fluted middy from dsa without worry.

the upper that you inquired about is fine, i have one and had no issues w/it..i bought mine 2yrs ago when they were running a special in the fal files marketplace for $275 for the upper only..but at the same time a friend of mine $250 for a complete upper with b/c and charging handle from blackthorne..we compared the two and they were identical...DSA is getting pretty big and still carry good products but their customer service has dropped off...good luck in your decision..just my .02... cbr
