A friend of mine has this old revolver, the above name is stamped on it and that's it. No caliber, no S/N, nothing else. It looks like a nickel or stainless finish. It's a break-top five shot revolver. I think the caliber is .38 but it's not .38 Special. The barrel looks like .358 or .359 when I use the calipers on it. The cylinder depth is right at .750" and I can't find anything in books I have about what caliber it might be. Aside from minor finish blemishes it seems to be in good mechanical condition. Fixed rear sights and a 5" barrel rounds out the rest of the features. Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks for any insights into this oddity.

As it turns out, I found out quite a bit of information surfing the Net. This is an Iver Johnson revolver made for of all people, Sears and Roebuck!

It is nickel finish, and is .38 S & W. I'm not sure of the date but it is before 1950 since they quit making this model that year. I'll let my buddy know that he can still shoot it because it's in good shape and ammo is still available. So is brass so he can reload for it too. I guess the caliber is real popular with Cowboy Action shooters so the dies are readily available.

You learn something every day, if you're paying attention.
:p
