EDM Arms is the maker of the original Intervention, and the Windrunner long range rifles.

Iv'e been considering buying one as my first long range rig. Sadly when finally making it to their website for pricing i was greeted with this:

"Bill Ritchie sole owner of EDM ARMS
passed away November 5, 2016

There are no assets

EDM ARMS 1996-2016"

Looks like the companies over and no more rifle's will be made.

But they're still out there on the used market, so does anyone have experience with these guns? are they worth the 7k they go for used or are there better guns for the price?

I have no idea. I was always under the impression that Cheytac was the name behind the Intervention. Learn something new everyday.

Sorry I'm not of help!

Here is an EDM Windrunner

As you can see it's very similar to the Intervention. I'm not sure i got this right but i believe this is how the story goes. CheyTac was developing the .408 round and needed a gun to show it off in, so they partnered with EDM to use the Windrunner rifle that was already in production. Then something happened and CheyTac split from EDM and started producing the Intervention themselves which is basically the same gun with a few additions, most notably the barrel cover and bipod. Many posts iv'e read say the EDM guns are better quality for half the price. And Bill had great customer service while CheyTacs was very poor.

That's just what iv'e read on forums though. Maybe someone knows more that'll chime in.

I ordered a conversion kit for my 408 windrunner m96 to 50 bmg and sent a 2500 check to bill back in November 2016, three days after the check was cashed he committed suicide. I tried contacting the company and all I got was a "sorry, there are no assets." I still have not had any luck getting my conversion kit. So I'm kinda stuck. Let me know if anyone wants a 2015 edm windrunner m96 chambered in 408 cheytac. This is also my first post here, so hello everyone.

years ago my uncle gave a guy 3500 to start building a pickup. The guy went bankrupt and to my knowledge he never got his 3500 back. Sorry this happened to you.

I read somewhere it was cancer, very sad knowing it was suicide. Surely if you never received a product they can refund the check, 2500 is a lot of $$$ maybe you need to threaten with legal action. It was an actual business and not a private party so surely someone must be accountable.

What do you want for your Windrunner? You can PM me if you don't want to disclose it in this thread. And welcome to the forums!
