    Good morning,
Well I put 100 rounds thru my new EGW 45 this weekend and so here is the report:
Feel: Man this gun feels nice it's like the slide is on ball bearings not one failure.
Accuracy: As you can see from the pic not bad for freestanding at 20 yards not all the groups were this good but I just can't see with out my glasses. (another topic) Don't know what happened with the 2 strays I would have to say it was me. It seemed to shoot a little low and to the right but I guess we can adjust this although there fixed sights.
AMMO: I used American Eagle 230 grain FMJ and Fiocchi 230 FMJ. I didn't notice any difference with either load except thats this full load stuff really kicks I'm used to shooting reloads which is much lighter.
Overall: I am very happy with George & Co and the new gun I have. There will be some changes like the sights and the finish but with all the choices out there I can't imagine another gun being that much better and with the service that you get from a small shop I really can't see why anyone would want to spend big bucks for a gun and not consider having one built from people like EGW. GEORGE GOOD JOB.

George and his crew do nice work, dont they? I take all my .45's there, (lucky for me he's just 20 minutes away :) )usually for a dovetail front sight and his "reliability package". Pistols that had problems going in have always been 100% when I got them back. He's done a couple of horrendous triggers for me too. I highly recommend them. American Handgunner has an article on them in the May/June issue.

Haven't handled or fired one of EGW's pistols, but all the reports mirror what AK has noted. They also make/market some very good service/repair
    parts...AND...they will..upon receipt of your dimensions...custom-make
one of their angle-bored bushings. Light, finish lapping into the slide
is about all that's needed, and that can be accomplished with straight
J&B Bore Cleaner and a bushing wrench. In a pinch, Du Pont 101S
    rubbing compound will also work.

    Kudos to EGW!

    pfisto,

You have an EGW 1911 and all we get are pictures of the target??? We wanna see the gun, man! I've heard nothing but good about EGW. I plan to have some things done by them, myself. Congratulations.

AK103 - If I lived 20 minutes away from EGW, I'd be in the poorhouse...
