So it time again for us to elect those pesky critters into positions of power who spend their days finding new ways to strip us of our freedoms.
And in lieu of the “more gun grabbing than the republicans” party coming into power (god I hope not) I am planning on buying a EEEVIILLL gun on Election Day (and it’s a good excuse to sneak it past those controlling my finances "don't you have enough guns?")

What do yall thing would be a good option?
Right now I am thinking of one of these:

Mac 9 Rifle (its evil looking, cheap / fun to shoot and ... it’s cheap too)

FNFAL

High-Cap .45 (XD - 45 or other)

Another SKS (Have 2 already but I love them so much)

Another AK (I have 1 already but; 2 is 1, 1 is none?)

...? yall got any ideas?

Just remember, VOTE with a ballot, HUNT with a bullet.

I got them mixed up once and confused the heck out of a rabbit.

Most evil of your list is the AK.

Back in, what was it, 2002, when Rod Bolshevik got elected Gov. here in Illinois, I bought a "pocket rocket" straight off the Brady bad handgun list, and picked it up election day.

Nice!

Yeah I am gonna pick the gun up after I vote.

Mac 9 Rifle

if i remember right thats the gun the kid in Missouri used and it jammed on the 2nd shot. im glad it jammed on him but id hate for that to happen to you.

the XD is a nice gun and all but you should get a more evil gun because if the D-rats start with thier anti-gun legislation, they wont start off with handguns right away. however you can bet that AKs will be the 1st to be banned so id get the AK or another scary looking gun.
id also stock up on ammo just to be safe

A FNFal seems like it would be not only a wise investment, since they are already going up in price, and will go even higher if the hillary party gets their way, but they are also a hell of a lot of fun. .308 is a good all around caliiber, and the FAL has enough variations and aftermarket parts to keep them entertaining.

Besides, it doesn't sound like you have one yet... :D

Off your proposed list, I'd say that the FNFAL is the
most "Second Amendmenty" of the batch.

Go with that.

I've got one I built from a kit. It took some tweaking, but now I like and trust it.

You can find my posts about it by searching for "FrankenFAL" posts put up by hillbilly.

For a rifle, get the AK. Simply because there are folks out there who don't want you to have one. Also, ammo is plentiful, cheap, and widely available. Same thing with magazines. Aftermarket parts are similarly common.

For a pistol, get the XD-45. I couldn't have been happier with mine -- it fits naturally, shoots accurately, and is reliable as all get-out. The Croatian manufacturers and Springfield sure know what they're doing.

I do not really think we will be any better or worse off with either party in power (both just give lip service to the opposite sides) but that aside, I just do not get into evil type guns. I only buy guns that are good to their mothers, donate time to homeless shelters, and read to the elderly. :)

I am so ignorant on tactical or MilSurp (or whatever word I should use) weapons I would not be able to tell which one of those was even which. In the ARMY I was a pampered little MI guy. I hardly even held anything other than a 9mm pistol.

That is a taste I have yet to develope yet. My brother-n-law is completely into that stuff though and has things that scare the crap out of me.

Buy both an FN and AK kit, then build them yourself. You'll learn something new, be able to take some pride in accomplishment, and if you can manage to build the AK from a flat and score the FN receiver private party, you'll leave no pesky paper trail... :)

I'd second the question of "Why do inanimate objects scare you?"

PP - I've read many of your posts and you seem an open minded, intelligent, studious but "non-traditional" gun owner. It really concerns me that you made that statement. That really sounds like the duck hunters out there that say "you don't need an AK to hunt ducks" or "they'll never come for my shotgun...just that evil assault weapon stuff".

It's especially odd given your recent very pro-RKBA thread on carry.

P.S. You "Ruger Super Redhawk Alaskan .454 Casull" scares the crap out of me...just froma recoil position though.

i vote for FAL. practical for many things, well made, fairly cheap to buy, fairly cheap to feed.

Don't get me wrong. They don't scare me bacause I think they are dangerous. They are just huge and look like they would beat the daylights out of you if you shot them. Not to mention how scary the prices are when he tells me what he payed for them. I do not need that addiction. :)

If I were going to let inanimate objects scare me, I'd be much more wary of my toaster than any of my guns. That sucker is just mean.

Then my Browning and MG42 would probably give you a heart attack.

I love the idea of "election day gun". On the 4th I always go down to the pond and celebrate with all my scary looking military firearms.

Chrome-dome or skin-job?
