Elmer Fudd, the not-so-savvy gunseller...

Also, Fidel Castro said the best weapons for revolution was the 12 ga pump with OO buckshot. He ought to know.

Perhaps, given the average Cuban of the time he was accurate... but consider this...

Imagine if the average Cuban were as well trained and armed as the average THR member? I would think that may change things some :)

A lot of Casatro's people fought in the close quarters of a jungle. In that venue, a shotgun is efficient and deadly. Many of the Marines in the Pacific Theatre during WW2 preferred it even over the Thompson sub.

Note that Castro preferred a scoped bolt-action rifle for his own use, indicating that he didn't care for close combat himself.

That's still terrible...he should suggest: "Take a look at this video from Crimson Trace. See how these grips work?" That alone adds something like $300 to the gun.

"Don't forget this Galco holster, speed loader pouch, cleaning kit, deleading kit, special wipe rag, safety glasses and new hearing protection! Buy these targets and this tactical ruler to measure your groups."

Ah .. you'll make manager in no time.

I'm on the phone all day long doing high-level technical support for a leading manufacturer of networking equipment. On an average day I speak to people whose tecnical skills are far above mine and people who are just plain bozos. I treat them all the same, politely and professionally. If you are in a service or retail business and cannot do that, then get out. If you own the business, sell it while it still has some value. If you work somewhere, get out before someone calls you on your poor attitude and you get fired. I have owned an IT contracting company and believe me, if I heard someone being condescending, or worse, insulting to a customer, they would be out the door as soon as possible.

Not if he doesn't say "and here is some cheap but decent ammo for practice, and we have these which are great for defensive use, since you will want to practice some firing when your not able to get to the range here are some snap caps for dry fire practice, oh and if your going to be carrying that you might want a new gun belt to go with that holster, since your a lady lets see if I have a color in stock that will match your shoes, but if not I'll be more than happy to order you one and give you a call as soon as it gets in."

That might make manager then.

As for old geezers or Elmer Fudd's or whatever you call the people that dislike or just downright hate ceartin types of guns some of them can be convinced different, some of them we just have to wait on them to die. While its true we probably wouldn't be where we are now without them we may never advance with them.

Some folks are just plain stubborn in there ways :banghead:

Oh, my, I haven't been on the phone support side of things, but I have been on both the user side, and "support" side of technical things, and being on the support side of things just a couple times has made me be very nice every time I have to get our computer support out, I make sure I'm very nice to them. (Granted there are only two techs, so it isn't hard to know them by name)

The Elmer Fudd I know

I understand the OP's intent on describing a type of personality, but I have to disagree with the term "Elmer Fudd"

To me, Elmer Fudd is the feeble minded nemesis of Bugs Bunny/Daffy Duck. He's the one that exercises absolutely no trigger/muzzle discipline, or let alone obey any of the rules of firearms safety, during the duck/waabit season. Further, he uses volume of fire (spray and pray) to make up for his lack of accuracy.

Never did liked Elmer Fudd, especially when someone so inept and dangerous owns a mansion and a yacht.

Both types (the Op's Fudd, and the one I know) do not further the cause of firearms ownership.

never encountered a Fudd but if I ever did, I would vote with my feet and shop elsewhere....then get on a couple internet gun boards and give a review of the gunshop that had Mr. Fudd as a salesman and give a bad review (not bash him but state what transpired for me to leave and shop elsewhere....the readers can make the determination whether to patronize this gunshop or not).

BTW. While I certainly do not approve of the cartoon Elmer Fudd's firearms practices, I certainly would not mind having his shotgun.

Where else except a cartoon can you get a side-by-side, double barrel shotgun, that you can also pump the fore-end like a slide action, and never reload.

I believe your refering to the C WIZ Phalinx System, which is more of a gatling gun than a shotgun.

Steak-Knife: You betcha! That was what I was referring too, in response to the part of your post I quoted.;)

And I would LOVE to fire a gatling gun, with someone else supplying the ammo.

I found that with that type of store or Fudd store owner. You either need to bud into the covnersation he's having with the other 3 guys who aren' doing anything, "but still are supposed to work at the store". Or just wait 15 minutes, or just leave. One had all the lights off. I had to try the door as I was about to leave to find they were open. He never even opended the gates. Dirty place with scratched up guns sold as new all laying in a dirty counter., cigar smoke stinking up the merchandise, I just think they really don't see it at that stage. Most shopes were younger guys who knew their product and would talk guns with you all day, just to build a relationship. But Then there are the Fudds.
Drive an hour to see a gun that is scratched and chipped, "Kimber", with no discussion. Not even a price or a, "so what do you think". That's the worse one I have seen yet and it was recent, and they advertise on radio. Handed the gun back and he went right back to his conversation. And the prices were high.
