I bought a K31 for $100 awhile ago, and a Danish M/49 (P210) for $700 the year before that, then a NYPD S&W Model 10 for $130. But I totally missed the $90 SKS, the $200 Saiga, etc.

So right now, what's the surplus or otherwise firearms bargain to not miss? I keep thinking about SAR B6Ps.

Sportsman's Guide had Bulgarian Makarovs for $199. That ain't bad. Don't know if they are still available.

I am partial to the SARS K2P. The Mosssberg Patriot in a short action is a bargain. Especially in a walnut stock.

Seems all of the mil-surp rifle prices have about quadrupled over the past few years. I too missed the deals on Mausers, SKS rifles, Mosins, Lee-Enfields, et al ... Picked up an Argentine Hi-Power clone, a Sistema Colt, a few Star pistols, but missed out on all the long guns.

Only deals I'm seeing nowadays is on any pistols chambered in .40 S&W -- especially police trade-ins. If you like 40 -- or reload for it -- boy howdy, there's some steals out there.

I'm not seeing these. I hear the stories but haven't seen a good .40 deal yet.

I've consistently seen HK P30's chambered in 40 S&W selling for $600, and even cheaper in some cases this year. For a NIB P30, that's dang cheap.

You better jump on the Bulgarian Makarovs. Some of the retailers like Sportsman's Guide are scraping the bottom of the barrel and the guns are a little rough and come without accessories. If you hurry and pay more ($300-ish), you might be able to find one in unissued condition with the logbook, spare mag, holster, and original grips.

Police surplus .40 cals are hot. Glocks are widely available, M&P's are widely available, older S&W's are somewhat available, and Sigs are a little harder to find and vary more in price. HK USP40's can also be found here and there. Occasionally you might find some .357 Sig or.45 GAP models.

Spanish 1916 Mausers recently came in. The .308 ones are of arguable safety, though, and I don't find 7x57 a compelling caliber.

AR15's and accessories are cheap. If you want one, now would be a fine time to buy.

Ruger LCP's are $200-ish. You can do a lot worse for a pocket .380.

AK mags are also cheap.

This is what I'm seeing around here. Lots of Glock 22s, 23s, M&Ps, occasionally a 3rd Gen S&W, some SIG P-226s and 229s, SIG P-320s, H&K USPs, H&P VP40s, often at least $100 less than the 9mm of the same model.

AIM Surplus just sent me an ad for a complete Radical Firearms AR on sale at $429.95 delivered. They also have Mosins as low as $239.95 and Yugo SKS's, but not cheap at $419.

So AR or SKS, basically the same price.

They also have ammo on sale, including Fiocci 9mm, buy 1000 rounds and it's less than $9 a box for brass ammo.

The last of the Bulgarian Makarovs is quickly approaching. I bought three of them when they were available in unissued condition with all accessories. Guys I've missed the surplus bargains before and made sure it didn't happen this time.

I put a few of these together (PSA Freedom upper/ Anderson lower) for $443+ rear sight. I expect them to be cheaper in the near future. Joe

Vision Defense in Middlebury, IN is a manufacturer of AR's. I was there today. Complete, ready to go milspec guaranteed to shoot 1" for $439

What do you have against "The Spanish Hornet"?

Not trying to argue, just curious.

I purchased a XD 40 service model police trade for $309 out the door. Went to another gun show. Same guy was there, he had XD40 and Glock 40's for $275. He is a nice guy and I gave him a hard time about the extra $34 that I paid.He said he couldn't get rid of them.
