The .22 mag rimfire makes sense as a hunting cartridge in rifles. For use in a pistol not so much except in revolvers with a spare .22 lr cylinder. One can use the the .22 mag shot loads for snakes. In semiauto 9mm is a better choice for me and but it might not be for you. 9mm fmj is not so much more expensive and is much more powerful.
When they make a .22 mag auto loader with a reliable .22 LR conversion kit, I will interested.

Does anyone have any experience with the Excel Arms Accelerator pistol? They have a version with an 8.5” barrel, rail, charging handle and 2 mags. It’s pretty inexpensive as well. Sub $400. I have read stuff about screws loosening and poor customer service. I wonder if they are crap. I am also surprised it weighs 53oz.

Seems to get wide ranging though generally good reviews. I would want to know that I can easily remove that goofy charging handle though. That small issue would be a deal-killer for me. Probably though, it's to accommodate some shooters having trouble with the slide serrations.
For my part, in my own particular PMR world, there's little room for the MP-22 though I'd look twice if it were a good deal.

Todd.
